Happy 4th year Anniversary SkinnyMinhy!

Or.. should I say, Dr. SkinnyMinhy D.D.S. ? It's now over.. school is DONE... 13 hour days, non-stop work, 3 (more) years of school, all the frustration, tears, sleepless nights, and doubts are out the door... I'm finally a dentist.. and I couldn't be any happier. People have told me that I look happier... well yes, that is how I feel. I finally accomplished my life long dream of becoming a dentist...and I can't wait to use my skills :) I've left this blog silent for quite some time.. I had to focus, I didn't want to come up short on anything... I'm sorry to everyone who I've neglected and texts I never responded to ( I have a really good memory and I know who you are.... and I'm truly sorry... I hope to be able to reconnect with everyone now that I'm done!) I finished all of my requirements, I passed WREB (licensing exam for the western region) and I've submitted my application to get my California dental license.... and now? ... I'm taking off.. literally. This is probably my last post that I will be placing from my apartment in San Francisco. I don't know why I haven't been more emotional, I was probably more emotional last month when reality starting to sink in.. I am leaving my independent life.. for.. well.. home... It's a huge change.. more so reverting back to what I know.. what I know is that I won't be blogging a lot... why? I don't get to cook at home... my mom still cooks for me (she insists on it).. and it's just weird to share the kitchen ... so yep there it is.. my blog has made it.. I've made it.. alive and well!

Over 200,000 views and 4 quick years later.. the blog that started when I was trying to get into dental school... is now the cooking and life blog of a dentist :)

Since it takes so much time for the board to process my license, I've planned a few vacations.. some very last minute ones overseas (booking as we go?) I'm crossing half way around the world spanning Bahamas -> Cambodia... will touch foot in 5 countries...in 3.5 weeks... I'll be exploring in my usual form... if there's good food... I'm there....hope my stomach behaves itself! :)

Cheers to never freaking out over test cases, booking every single appointment, and well.. asking for a start check ever again. I just can't believe it.... My dreams of becoming a dentist are finally realized...16 years ago I was that weird girl who wrote in her 5th grade yearbook that she wanted to be a dentist... and while most girls started talking about boys...I quietly played with my Barbie dentist set who drove around in a pink sparkly convertible and lived in a fold up (not so) dream home.... well flash forward 16 years... that little girl grew up and is a dentist is driving a Chevy convertible...living in a tiny SF studio (no murphy bed though!)....Pure coincidence?? :)

It's time for some new beginning... time for new adventures and well for the first time ever.. I'm moving into the real work world...

Upcoming posts won't be about recipes...they'll be about food and vacationing... sorry : / I hope to get inspired by the foods I eat on the trip and really wish that one day this blog will come back to life with new recipes!
