Urban Gardening ?

I know it's trending, but I'm not willing to put my name on a wait list, and bus it to wherever the garden is. I went home last week and got some plants from my parent's garden. I wanted an indoor herb garden, and well, rather than going to Home Depot, my parents just plucked some plants from the garden and potted them up nicely. Their garden is beyond extensive! I brought back 4 plants to my north facing apt.... my apt is bright, and lighted, just not sunny, which I'm fine with.... but that kind of makes it hard to grow plants. I stuck all the plants next to the windows and hoped that they grow. Well, one week later, and I"m not sure what to think. Some of my onions have dried up, and my mint plant is just... the same size with a few yellowing leaves. My rosemary bonsai is looking strong. I'm applying some forces to it so it can have come cool shapes... and my orchid is, for the most part .. happily thriving. Of all the plants, I think the orchid will be the one to make it the longest since my apt is so warm.. all the time.. even without a heater!

Sorry for the instagramming effects... I like to experiment on my phone a lot...and was wondering what the hype was about this program.. :)
Orchid and Rosemary Bonsai that my Dad grew

My Mom planted shallots, and they grew this chive/onion-y looking thing, tastes like a mild green onion
Mint, also plucked from the garden
My cute dining area :) Now the bonsai is also there because I think more light makes it to that window!
Basil from Mollie Stones.... need to find a pot for it!
A ramekin has to do for now... :)
It's the middle of the quarter.. so that means it's midterms season! I haven't been cooking much.... I've been heating up frozen entrees or eating out... yea.. bad week for food. I made a lot of things with cremini mushrooms, and also tried using some of the onions, and rosemary in my dishes. My sunday morning "meal" was a ham, rosemary, green onion, cheese, egg scramble... a simple, not so filling 5 minute appetizer! ... AND I got to use some fresh rosemary from my bonsai, and also snipped a few leaves from the onions... coolness :D Anyway, today will be filled with cleaning, grocery shopping, and cramming for my midterm tomorrow....last quarter was so nice since there were no Monday tests... this quarter...there are like 4?... I don't know why I'm complaining... but I always feel like my weekends are gone because of that. :/
