Helloooo weekend!

I finally sewed my sister's dSLR strap cover. I've been holding off on this for many months! We're going on vacation at the end of this week, and will both be bringing our camera. I wanted her to have a pretty strap as well. I'm not going to bake or cook much this weekend or week. I'm trying to keep up with my goal of eating healthy for one week. Vacationing is usually horrible for my acid reflux :(. I normally love junk foods, gummy bears especially. I'm going to try to limit myself to just a few a day... rather than a bag every few days.. The 99 cents store.. I mean.. the $0.9999 which is ~> essentially the $1.00 store has the best sour gummies, thank you for introducing me to them.. you know who you are. haha

I changed the way I did it this time. I created a hole to slip the strap in, it was so much easier to turn in inside out after I was done sewing! I will redo my strap cover soon, but will not make it padded (It's so much harder to sew with the extra padding!) I'm thinking something more spring time... something fun, bright, and festive! :)!

So... with 1/4th of a yard of fabric... I was able to make the strap cover and this...
Please excuse the horrible sewing job.... I've never sewed a tote before (with a rectangular base)..... and... I had scraps of fabric left, so I had to piece together a few of the scrap to get the proper size... I was just sewing until it fitted into the bag.... So.. why did I make this?

I wanted ""protection"" for my camera! haha, I don't have a case for my camera, still haven't found a cute purse to carry it in (I've had one in mind for years.. but the price tag is still making me very weak when I think about it...) I usually just put it in a purse dust bag... yea, less protection than this! I might line it to make it less messy, but probably not. If I do go back to the fabric store it'll be to make a new bag with foam padding, or a cute retro apron... something I can hang proudly in my new kitchen :)

I was contemplating making a personal blog, just to remember my life in my early 20's aka my never ending years in school. These are supposed to be wonderful times in a person's life right? I feel like I'm still too young to have big obligations and pressures. These are the years that really should be cherished for being free, exploring the world, and getting to know who you really are. Yep, seems pretty sweet to me!
So, what is a day in the life of ....well... me? As you may all know, it is really just nothing. I have a few hobbies here and there, sleep til noon-ish <- a="" as="" awesome="" class="blsp-spelling-error" i="" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5" so="" span="" work="">NCLB
tutor 4 days a week... and those things pass the time pretty quickly.
I wanted to share something else with this blog, pictures of my parent's hobbies. We all have something we like doing in this house, and it's quite different from one another. My parents garden.... a lot. They have a pretty big obsession with Bonsais, and Japanese maples. I never really got into any of that, trust me, I've tried. (I think I'm too ahhh of bugs and animals in the garden...) There are so many things in my parent's garden, from green trees, shrubs, to fruits, vegetables, exotic flowers, a pond that used to be filled with huge kois (stupid raccoons...)... and so much more, I've lost count. Every week, there seems to be a few new plants. This week tomatoes... last few weeks... Japanese maples... So my mom asked me to take pictures of these plants, because well, there's no guarantee that they will survive or look as vibrant next year!

My parent's bonsai plants and some other things around the garden...

(I don't know why my mom placed a glass fish back there haha...so random!)

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend! :)
