Why hello there...

I really have stopped cooking :( I work 3 times my normal load... so yea, that really doesn't leave me much room to plan a day of cooking. I usually bake on the weekends, but this weekend I spent going out to SF and Oakland. Oh well, I will bake more soon. I'm still on the hunt for that mixer.

So, back to my adventures in food land... which will have a new place starting July 1st. I finally found an apt! I was stressing out about this for the last few months. I wanted a perfect place and had a pretty good idea of what I want and don't want in an apt... and I finally found it. It is a studio apt located one block from the school that has carpet (which I love/is rare for SF apts), high ceilings, a small but cute eating area that is separate from the living area (maybe a small bistro set or pub set would do for a dining table?.. I mean.. it's just going to be me... usually haha), a pretty big kitchen for a studio! with full sized appliances, gas stove!!!<- if it was electric I would have said no... haha.. I'm pretty picky when it comes to stoves ( gas saves time and money.. and I hope to walk back for lunch each day... because I love hot meals !)... and a huge fridge! (yay for costco).. The apt itself is very bright because it faces a very wide street. I even have bay windows to stare out of (with a view of the school haha!) I don't think I could have asked for more, given my small budget. Pacific Heights isn't geared towards the budget seeking tenants :( ...unless you're willing to live without a stove.... and have your bed against the wall.. (I honestly didn't think those types of apts existed !!) I get to furnish this place from scratch and not have to worry about dividing anything. I'm slowly buying things so I don't get stressed out when the time comes because school starts on July 9th (8 days to unwind, unpack, and make it home!) I've moved to 6 different places during undergrad... now.. onto my 7th move in 5 years... I should be good at this by now, right? I actually haven't really unpacked from undergrad.... I still rummage through boxes to find things... but yea. I'm going to dig through all the clearance section for the next month to see what I can find as well as slickdealing stuff. Last weekend I bought 5 spoons from a box of 6... in the as-is section at IKEA... for one missing spoon.. they reduced the price by 50%... hahah I love that section.. I wish I lived closer to IKEA just so I can wait and see what gets returned everyday.... oh... how fun that'd be! So yea.. that will be my update on life right now. I'm thinking of starting a personal blog.. another life soon. I want to remember things about this time in my life. I'm juggling around with different names.

Here's what my new kitchen will look like. This was taken of an empty unit. I'm not a fan of the tile, but everything else is nice and bright! This kind of reminds me of the kitchen in my home now. You should see apartments around this area...at the same price range as this one... (think... layers and layers of paint over wood... no counter top space... and miniature appliances...) This is definitely a great upgrade from my last few apartments...and I'm so excited to start cooking in it.. even if it's just pb and honey sandwiches and cup of noodles. :)
