"Madeleines" Using a Cookie Tray


Another french pastry, but not a great recipe. I hunted for hours to find this recipe. Madeleines have SO MUCH BUTTER... I wanted to see if there were ways that I could reduce the amount. I found a recipe that had lesser amount of butter and tried it. It baked well, butter was seeping out of the cookies/cake-ish while baking. It just wasn't good. It tasted almost like corn bread. I used a cookie tray instead of a madeleine tray because I don't see myself making these cookies a lot. This tray did have ridges, so I thought it would produce similar results.. iono.. it got the elusive hump.. but not much more. This recipe was quite bland, and dry. Oh well, gave it my best shot. I ended up making 6... yea, all that effort, and only 6 were made... haha I am the queen of making ridiculously small batches....
