The Ramen Diet?

I eat ramen... like 5 times a week. MSG overload... and not the good ramen either.. ( well it is quite delicious).. but.. dried ramen.. + hot water... + powder soup base.. type of ramen :(.. well the picture above is of this udon set I bought at the Japanese store... I wanted to add some substance to my soup

What happened to cooking, and eating healthy? That all went down the drain. It's labor day weekend.. I'm just vegging out and enjoying the fog as it rolls by.. contemplating how I'm going to buff up my new hand crafted piece of jewelry... but tomorrow I will do some touristy things... as in going to union square haha.. haven't been there in a few weeks... I like playing tourist here. I look like a tourist.. I guess haha. Anyway... My adventure in food land have been dwindled to processed/instant foods... but this is something that ties in with what I did almost a year ago when I took the wilton courses on flower making.

I have this class... out of my 7 classes (or 10.. wth..) haha that deals on restoring teeth. We've learned how to make a crown prep, a temporary crown, and stuff relating to that... yea.. since we don't actually make the crowns ourselves ( the lab does it) we still had to learn the process as to how they're made. We made jewelry out of silver. First, we formed the shape out of wax... people did pendants.. rings... little figurines... well .. I made a ring. I always wanted a rose ring... iono.. I was so close to buying one on Etsy... but I figured.. I should just make it for my project! I knew how to sculpt a rose from gumpaste.. and fondant... how is making a tiny ring any different?... besides working with less pliable materials.. and making it 1/4 the size? ... I think my hand skills are developing... slowly haha anyway... last week I made it out of wax... poured stone over it to make the impression... this week.. it was baked at 900 degrees ( eek!).. so all of the wax can fall out... and then I used this cool spinning machine to melt the silver with a blow torch.. and spun that molten silver into my mold.... the result.. a silver rose ring that I have to polish... silver's not so shiny when it comes out of the mold... makes me thing of silver jewelry in a different light.... but this is one of the things that I"m actually proud of.. something I can take home... ( it's not like I love to look at my close to ideal cavity preps all day.. but yea. I plan to wear this ring out when I'm done polishing.. next week.. we're going to be making out halloween teeth.. we've taking impressions of our teeth and will be placing a set of false teeth over it.. hm.. what should I be? a person with severe gum disease?.. gummy smile?.. vampire fangs...? many chipped teeth? haha iono.. I guess I have a few days to decide how creepy I will look.. this will be fun...

The countdown begins... 2.5 weeks til finals.... 7 finals in a week.... and a few practicals along the way... zzzzzzzz I will start studying now.. I guess...

The pattern made out of wax.. my fingers hurt badly from doing this.. wax is so hard to work with..this is my attempt to loosely combine my love for cooking... and dentistry.. :)

The almost completed ring.. I still want to buff it more.. the crevices of the rose makes it extremely difficult to get shiny.. but the band is almost mirror-like :) .. it went from that dull silver you see at the base of the ring.. to a shiny.. wearable piece of art.. iono I think I baby this piece of jewelry.. because I made it myself.... I've worn it around already.... and I still have to spend a bit of time polishing it before it's due on Wed.

Things that I've made... yes I still bake.. once a week..and cook whenever I can... and just simple stuff too.. that I've done before.. I don't have time to look for recipes :/
